| Hi everyone,
I am trying to identify plants and mainly leaves that contain more lignin(and other biochemicals) than other leaves. For instance I know that Tomato skin has a high content of Lignin. And pine needles have a high content of Lignin too. Some one has more examples to identify this biochemicals? I also need plants/leaves/fruits with high content of the following biochemicals: Cellulose Starch Xylan Cutin Silica Ribulose 5-biphosphate Peroxidase Glutathione Ascorbic Acid Thank you very much for the tips |

| Potatoes sure have a lot of starch in them... Horsetails (Equisetum) contain large amounts of silica in their stems. |

| Cotton fiber (Gossypium) is nearly 90% cellulose, hemp fiber about 75% Starch is found concentrated in some root vegetables (potates, cassava, taro) and cereals - wheat, maize/corn, rice, etc. Xylan is found primarily in grains and grasses. Cutin is present in fruits with shiny surfaces - apples, cherries, nectarines - and in many broadleaved evergreen shrubs with very glossy foliage, like laurels, boxwood, gardenias, camellias, Hedera helix. |

| Ascorbic acid, aka vitamin C, is high in many fruits and vegetables. |
Here is a link that might be useful: Ascorbic Acid Link
