Hi, the plant in question is the Chinese bottle gourd, also known as a calabash (Lagenaria siceraria). It has two bulges on the mature fruit. It is like this, even as an ovary on the flower. Can someone tell me if these two bulges are two different ovaries on the same fruit and how this evolved or if it a single fruit in this shape?
