What bromeliad is this?

Hello Gardenwebers

I have a bromeliad I am trying to identify. It was labeled as vriesea blaze but does not look like the image on the FCBS site. Any ideas? Thanks for your suggestions!

Vri Purple Cockatoo is my guess as a practicing novice....

There are two Vr. 'Blaze' listings in the BSI cultivar registry. The fcbs site doesn't have a photo of the one which was made and registered by Nat DeLeon. Your plant looks like a good match for the one (DeLeon version) that I have.

Thankyou both for your replies. I appreciate your help. I really like this brom because it is a fast grower with leaves that are never marked.
