Alcantarea vinicolor

Yes the plant will die after flowering but it will be months down the track.
Seeds can be taken and do grow well and the plant will put out pups that can be taken off once they are at least 1/3 size of mum.

Wow i didnt know A. Vinicolor got that big. Great to see as i recently brought 2 ⺠More sun would make it more purple right?

I think it is an Imperialis as my vinicolour has thinner leaves and is very red.

I think your right sunshine. My Vinicolor have narrower leaves, red and quite a bit smaller.

Thanks for all the info.The leaves have been consistently a medium grey/green with red tips. Unchanged when it receives additional sun when we cut back the canopy of palms above it.
Will go up to inspect the base of the plant to see if pups are
present.
