Hi All,

I'm very familiar with the care of orchids and now that I've been able to bloom a bromeliad that I purchased last year I went out and purchased a pot of bromeliads from the big box store. The one plant that really caught my attention is the one with gold streaks in the leaves. The rest are pretty standard but I've never seen the gold one before.

Two questions - first, any idea what the name of the bromeliad is with the gold markings?

Second, these are planted in a pretty heavy moss mix. I think it's too fine and heavy. Should I transplant them into something with more bark and less moss or do these types like a bit more moisture than others?
