Aechmea species identification

Does anyone have a name for this guy? It doesn't look like anything on FCBS. The first set of pictures are a clump blooming in the shade by a river. The second set I think is the same species in a lot better light (and higher altitude). And the last picture shows it in a lot better light and blooming (also higher). Recognize it?

I'd guess mexicana or one of the other Podaechmea.

Thanks bromadams. All the pics I'd seen of the mexicana have the very white fuzzy inflo so I had skipped over it. And thanks for the sub-group 'Podaechmea' name. I'll have to dig out that list of the sub-families of Aechmea to see what else is in that group.

I'm going with A. mexicana too. Ours always bloom around Christmas/New Years. The berries do turn more white with age. I think A. lueddemanniana is its closest relative, and just looking at the inflorescence I might have said that, but the foliage looks more like mexicana.
