'Aztec Gold' with too gold ! pup

Though I'm with terrestrial xeric brom, this variegated form of Aechmea recurvata

is one of my favorite.

I've kept them with other xeric type, but use pine bark as growth media.

One of my plant has produced an entirely yellow pup, I guess it cannot make

if I separate the pup off.

Great to see more of sure pics, I would have thought that your yellow brom would produce chlorophyll and could be detached safely and still live.

highly unlikely to survive BUT it does have some green underneath. If it did survive i think it would grow very slowly. Cut it off, pot it up and see what happens.

I agree. It looks like there might be a tint of green to that little guy. Cut 'em off, throw him to the sharks, and see if he can swim! It's a cruel brom eat brom world out there.

Beautiful plants none the less. I haven't come across that form before.
