Hi All,

Last fall I orig posted a picture of my first bromiliad and asked for ideas on what kind it was. The majority said I needed a bloom first. The other options were either a Bleherae or an Appenii. Can anyone say what it is now?

I was expecting the scape bracts to be blue but it's yellow. (is that the correct term?) Also, the yellow scape is coated with a glue like substance that I have to keep rinsed off or the bracts start sticking together. Is there something different that I should be doing to prompt the actual flowers to show up or are they like orchids in that they take forever to finally produce flowers.
