I haven't seen a Guzmania hybrid that small before but it does look like a miniature Guzmania hybrid to me. As for the rest of your question, I'm sure one of our 'Guzzie Growers' can tell you much more than I.

My understanding is that these little "mini" Guzmanias are just standard varieties that have been treated to force them to bloom at an early age. Sorry, I don't know the name of the cultivars, but I'd be willing to bet that if you grew out the pups you'd probably end up with a much bigger plant.

Don't try to removed them yet, though. Ordinarily it's best to wait until they are about half the size of the mother plant, but in this case, since the mother's been dwarfed, I'd wait a lot longer than that.

I'm not sure what you mean by each plant having two inflorescences. I'm only seeing one on each one, which is as it should be.
