Proper Fertilization

Hi everyone! Thanks for the help with the IDs of my new Bromeliads!

I did my research on their care, but I have a question as to proper fertilization for each my Vriesa splendens, Guzmania and Tillandsia. Each site and book has different information regarding fertilization. I don't want to use the wrong N-P-K and I don't want to burn them.

If you could, please...

...I need to know:

1) how each most effectively absorbs fertilizers (leaves/urn/roots)

2) proper N-P-K

3) frequency

Hi Hort,
You've just asked the "Million Dollar Question" and sure opened up a can of worms.

I think the short answer is that everyone has different ideas, but to ere on the side of safety, less is best.

Get a good balanced (14-14-14 or 13-13-13)time release fert and use it moderately unless you want all your plants green
