a few recent pics

This is supposed to be an orlandiana 'Rainbow' but I don't know about that. This thing has been strapped to a palm tree for almost two years and hasn't taken a palm frond hit yet. It took the recent cold weather just fine. Lately, I've been hitting it with some foliar fertilizer and it does seem to be growing at a faster rate. This thing is very hard to photograph. It's too high up for a tripod and the bright background makes it hard to get the true colors when the sun is hitting it.

Here is orlandiana 'White Knight'. This looks a lot like the published picture of 'Rainbow'. This one was an abused pup that I rescued and stuck on a tree. Again, I've been hitting it with some foliar feed and it's doing well.

This is some unknown Ortgiesia hybrid that somebody recently gave me. I plan to put one of the pups on a tree soon.

This is Ae. 'Pickaniny'. I liked it better when it was younger and it had some interesting yellow tints.

I forgot to include my recent Ae nudicaulis var. aequalis pic. This guy is growing on the same tree as the 'White Knight'.

Always a pleasure to see pics of such beautiful plants. Ive got a cple of Orlandiana's on the way (woohoo!)so was wondering; you mentioned you've been using foliar feeding on the first one - whilst the improved growth rate is great, has the feeding affected the colouring at all or are these not as a bit more welcoming of a feed than the Neos?

Kristan, I'm still experimenting with the foliar feed on the epiphytically grown plants but so far my opinion is that it's a good idea. I try to keep my epiphytes free of debris so they are probably starving and the regular, light foliar feed seems to keep them looking a lot healthier without losing their color. I have some that get a lot of sun but I've never fed them and they just look stunted and neglected.

I foliar feed my smaller seedlings twice a week and I just use the same mixture to hit the tree born plants but I don't feed the tree born plants more than once a week.
