In need of suggestions with a pineapple

I have been growing this pineapple from a store bought fruit top since at least 2008. It is now between 5 and 6 feet tall. It takes up too much space so I want to try to get it to bloom and fruit. Where it is it only receives about five hours of early morning sun (just after sun-rise) I think it hasn't bloomed because it hasn't enough light but get enough to keep growing.

I'm thinking of putting it outside once the weather get warmer but if it gets any bigger I'll have no space for it inside anymore, Does anyone here know if six - eight hours of sun will get it to flower? I am open to suggestions.
