The experts are stumped on this one so I figured since this plant is so hardy, someone has to have seen it somewhere. It came from a collection of Eric Knoblock in Louisiana and was most likely his creation. It's probably a bigeneric - a Quesmea because he did a lot of experimenting with that kind of cross. It is the most hardy of broms that I have ever seen. I have put it in the full sun, in oaks, it survives freezing temps and blooms a lot. A promiscuous plant you might say. I have lots of photos if you are interested. Someone at Tropiflora said they saw this plant once but can't remember when or where.
