Hi all, with winter just around the corner a few plants are really starting to colour up with the cooler weather.

Here are a couple glowing in the winter sun.

Neoregelia pasciliana -

Alcantarea imperialis rubra - looking good before the cold gets it

Aechmea ornata nationalis albo marginata

Happy bromming - Cheers Richard

Hi Richard, thanks for the pics.

Love the sun through the Neo. pascoaliana, and the others look great as well. That Ae. ornata is a beauty - does it keep that strong dark green/white contrast in full morning sun? Or is it more a dappled/bright shade plant?

    Cheers, Paul

    Hi Richard,

They truly glow - just lovely. But I can wait a bit longer for winter thanks - first frost of the season this morning in our surrounding paddocks (but not in garden). b..b.brrrr!

Thanks Paul, the A. ornata is in my rockery and in summer the sun goes straight over head (full sun most of the day)
I have found the variegated form will take even more sun.

Hi Kez. sorry to hear that - we are down to around 2-4 degrees presently at night but still mid 20's daytime.

    Cheers Richard
