There are commercial products that induce blooming (Florel, Ethrel) but they are expensive, hard to find and somewhat risky to work with so I wouldn't go to all that trouble for just one plant.

The old-fashioned method is to put your plant in a bag or sealed container with a piece of ripe fruit, like an apple or a banana. The fruit will release ethyline gas, which is the same thing the commercial products do, and that should trigger bloom within a month or so. It's kind of hit-or-miss, not as reliable as the chemical applications, but even those don't always work. Be sure you keep your plant out of direct sunlight when you're doing this, you don't want to cook it. One day should be enough.

Bonnie, did you mean to write "rebloom"? I'm the area's biggest skeptic surrounding the so called 'miracle effects' of ST. Their ads never list ingredients nor do they respond to queries regarding their statements. Thanks.

Some of mine are just starting to bloom. They seem to bloom in fall or winter in our climate. If it's healthy I wouldn't do a thing, it will bloom when it is ready.

Its only a guess but it would seem that the active ingrediants in ST ar Cytokinin an/or Gibbereins. Similar hormones are found in the Gal jug of root stimulator by Vital Earth/Carl Pool products.

I agree with beachplant...sure keep it happy + healthy and it will bloom when ready with its natural season.
If it were a small pup when you got it , can take up to 2 years.
