I recently started buying some bromeliads and know next to nothing about them. The two smaller ones I think are Vressias and the two larger ones are some sort of Cryptanthus, but I don't know really. On the larger Crypthantus (?) they were sunburnt from the store so they came very cheap, but are putting small lavender flowers from the water cup(?) which I believe is the term for the cup like part in the middle. Should this cup actually have water in it? Should I water from the top or at the base? What kind of lighting/watering conditions should these bromeliads have? Can anyone tell me about the specific names of these and and special needs in terms of fertilization/care?
