Your pineapple will have only one pineapple fruit - but it will produce many pups which will go on to make their own one-time fruit and give you even more pups. This is how plantations are made.

Many pups will come from between the leaf margins and, many times, from under the pineapple fruit itself. And don't forget the pineapple top is a pup as well!
