What's the blue stuff on the surface of the mix, is it slow release fertilizer?

Nev, you are correct - it is slow release fertiliser I was trying to encourage a few more pups along. I do like Bower Birds sadly there are none in my yard, buying non-blue fertiliser would seem like a small price to pay.
