Does anyone know this one? Or would it be better to wait for the actual bloom? I've been waiting for ages!

| G'day BA...a bit dusty down in Coffs to nite still? (I am in Goonellabah, Lismore and it is horrific up here at the moment - 9pm) Anyway..I reckon this Till is juncea. |

Thanks from one BA to another! he he. I had that ID in my mind also, just from the foliage, but being no expert I wasn't sure. Yes, the dust got worse as the evening progressed and today I am a bit under the weather myself, with headaches and sinus, so I know what I'm blaming. It looks as though the bloom will be appearing shortly on that Till, so I'll post a pic on this thread when it does. Thanks again BA |

Well, four weeks later, a bloom at last.
Does this confirm the T. juncea ID? I cut the anthers off and put them in the fridge so i can use the pollen on the next flower, whenever that might be! BA |

Dan, I only got one flower! I haven't looked today though, I hope I didn't miss one! Have you tried pollinating yours? BA |

| No. I didn't try to pollinate mine. I don't know too much about Tillandsia (I only own 2), but if it's the same as for other bromeliads you don't have to use the pollen from one flower on another from the same plant. You sould be able to just use the pollen from one flower on the stigma of the same flower. The net effect is the same. I think your form of Juncea is different to mine as well, but it could just be growing conditions. |

| I know of three forms of T. juncea; normal like BA's, a very large form, and one often called T. juncifolia which has (it seems) more open leaf bases. |
