Yes, that's no problem. Broms can vary quite a bit in their pupping and blooming habits, but pupping does not signify the end of the mother's growth cycle the way blooming does.

When you say "force", were you planning to treat the plants with an ethylene producing agent? What type of bromeliads are they? Best to know what you're dealing with before you attempt something like that.

Hi glennpatrick you are just entering fall and your light intensity indoors will be low so inducing flowering may be a problem. Have never used the apple in a bag method (though you can fill the funnel of the plant with water and go to the drug store and ask for Calcium Carbide (sold as a dry crushed rock in glass bottle usually?) a small chip of this chemical droped into the funnel of your plant usually works well. though as Lisaclv mentioned, pupping does not mean the end of flowering, though with Aechmea fasciata Primera, it often means the funnel is not likely to produce a flower from this pup, so do not be surprised if the pup does not produce flowers once you treat it. allan
