Hello, my name is Robert and I just signed up for your fantastic forums. I have used these great resources many times through the years for many different things. I am living in Southern California in a suburb of Los Angeles and have been growing this particular pineapple plant for at least 4 years now. I never really took care of it as I should have, letting the winter cold get to it every year. It grew a few suckers a few years after I planted it, with no attempt at fruit. To my surprise, the 3rd sucker started to grow a pineapple some months ago. And my question to you, now that the weather is getting colder (near the high 50s) and I don't want to lose this precious fruit. Should I harvest soon? Here are a few pictures from last weekend:
