I was also in this competition. I would help my brother Stephania to identifiy plants. ;-) Unfortunately some plants were mislebeled. It was the responsibility of the competitors. Somebody didn't know the name of their plants. That very difficult for me to identify. Plants grew in different conditions usually looked different.

If I counted right the Artichoke brom in pic. no.8(Ninja?)is not like any brom I have seen.

Hi Stephania, Your photo report certainly lives up to your usual standard. It seems your country has the climate to not only produce good brom growers but good photographers as well and it certainly produces beautiful Neoregelias. As I have said before, you should get together with Lisa, Kerry and the other photographers on this forum and produce a book or a DVD. (Include also your friend who also took some of these pics for you). As well as being a record of your achievements, I'm sure you would find a ready market among the world's brom growers.

As to the (carolinae x concentrica) x Hannibal Lecter, I did that same cross last year and so far none of my seedlings look anywhere near that good! Of course they're still young, but most of the variegated zonates I've seen have been the result of crossing back to the zonate at least one more time. The bands don't usually come through that strong in the first generation, so I'm wondering if that's really the complete parentage. Gorgeous plant, at any rate!

I have 3 forms of (carolinae x concentrica) x Hannibal Lecter. I labelled them Dark, Light and red clones.Since they haven't been named as yet. Its a nice plant

As J+A wrote, they seem almost too good to be true. I have never seen such beautifully-formed neos as you grow them in Thailand. I noticed many are growing in quite large pots, so I assume their roots are fed quite well, along with good strong light, humidity, and plenty of TLC. Are they also foliar-fed?

Nev - thanks for the compliments and repeated suggestion of a collaborated book/dvd. The logistics of us getting together would make that difficult, even if time allowed. But you never know - individual efforts might be in the pipeline...

Chanin - any further developments on a world brom conference being held in Thailand? (oh please, please?)

Thanks for all participation. Tropical climate in Thailand is very suitable to grow plants. Broms. grow properly and do not flower when they're still young. That is quite good for them. Normally, they can grow to very large size and show up their beauty, colors and forms, as you see in those pics.

WOW! HDD, you have 3 from of (carolinae x concentrica) x Hannibal Lecter. This plant is the one I love but still don't have one. I like those banded on variegated leaf. I'm still looking for. HDD, Let's show those 3 forms.

For WBC, I know that Nong Nooch Tropical Garden is now preparing to be the host. He spend lots of money to creat new Broms. garden. Hope he will succeed in the mission. WOW WBC in Thailand, It's my dream that will come true.

Hi Lyndi, yes normally Baan Lae Suan (Home and Garden) Fair will be held
near the end of Oct every years.

the Suan Luang Rama 9 Ornamental Plant Show that will be held on Dec.
never had brom show yet, may be we will put the show up there next year.

When you say the plants are put on a diet, do you mean they get no food at all? Or do they start the plants off with some food and then never again, or do they still get the occasional light foliar feed?
