Stunning Lyndi! Thanks for sharing - but I have to pick your brain. Do you know what the plant in pic #8 is? Some sort of carcharodon or hybrid of it? And the one in the very first picture, top right?

I am sure you got quite a couple that followed you home. Must be quite a job to select a few when you are overwhelmed with such beauty!

It should be Aechmea ' Thai Red ' in the Pic #8.

Lyndi - Thanks for sharing your pics - It's great when you and our other forum friends share their pics, especially for people like me who will never get to go to these places. Like Japie, I like the one in pic 8 also. In fact I like all of them. Thanks again, I must go and drool some more, All the best, nev.

The bromeliad in pic#8 is too huge for us( me and my plant- addict son) to cart back so we gave it a miss.

These are what we brought back. Any ID would be much appreciated.

Lyndi, the one you did not cart back, is most probably Neo Milagro. Could also be Garnish or Predator, but Milagro is my first guess. Have you touched the leaves? Milagro's are fairly thick compared to the other two.

    Sorry, I forgot to add:

#5 Most probably Neo Royal Burgundy
#6 Neo Scarlet Charlotte grown very nice OR (Lisa?)could it be Hot Lips? If it is, I am going to hate you!!

#6 Looks like Sister Grace to me

Don't hate me, Japie, it's not HL! I'm not sure what Sister Grace looks like, but I would have said plain Grace.

Thumbs up on Milagro, but thumbs down on Royal Burgundy for #5. The color is close, but the form is wrong, particularly the leaf tips. Not sure what it is, though.

#4 looks like Morado, and #1 is some form of Ae. chantinii, but I don't know which clone (or if it even is a named clone).

Sister grace is sometimes called Grace Select clone. Its just one of the best clones of the grex, both in color and form

I am absolutely overwhelmed by your post and your photos. I live in Australia and unfortunately, quarantine and methyl bromide kills everything that I have brought back so far. So the only enjoyment I have is looking at your photos and other members photos. Thanks for sharing with me and others.

    Lyndi,
What is the name of that white variegated "fosteriana" type?

#1 looks like an Aechmea chantii or chantii hybrid.
    #2 Neoregelia carcharodon hybrid
    #3 ?
#4 Neo. meyendorfii compacta tricolor or marginata
#5 , 6, 7 I see some parentage of things in them but not pure. But definitely complex hybrids with Australian and Hawaiian origins.
