how many mother plants in a pot?

hello,

how many mother plants from Neoregelia can i make in a pot? I have 3 bromeliads planted in a pot from any type. but some mother plants have many pups.
Can i cut the pups and plant she in the same pot to the mother plants? so i have later 4 and more have in one pot?

Or are 3 plants enough? Maybe she need space and air to grow. please help me. later i want a big full pot.

3 should give good results if you want a lot of plants in a small space.
