I wouldn't hesitate to taste it! I heard some of the Bromelia taste pretty good, just too spiny (leaves) and fruit not large enough to be 'commercial'. Can you at least put a dab on the tip of your tongue and report back?

I did harvest the rest of the fruit and most had one or two seeds while one did have 3 seeds. I did sow one seed just to see how it goes, but I have no use for the other seeds. Nobody that I know really wants a B. sylvicola, and neither do I. I did spread some of the pollen about and did get some seeds but so far none have sprouted and I doubt that any will. I may do more with my B. humilis if it ever flowers but it's a low priority.

Oh, no adventure! I just tried a Hoh. lepoldo-horstii and it was really quite tangy. Definitely a surprise. Billbergia berries seems to be the sweetest in my garden. And the different Bills I have tasted definitely all taste different.
