Aechmea gamosepala is often called matchstick plant, although there are many different species & hybrids with different coloured flowers.

As a follow-on from Todd's info. might I just add that this is one of the first bromeliads that many collectors start out with. It is generally very easy to grow and quickly grows into a large specimen plant when grown in the garden.
