One very stuborn Amaryllis.

We got an Amaryllis bulb in our secret santa gift box. It was in a cold (we thought) place, to wait for spring. It had other Ideas. I happen to see it 2 days ago and it was growing out of the bag it was in. I took it out and put it in a pot with dirt. It has a total of 3 stalks growing with so far, 7 flower buds and one opened. Boy was it a very pleasant suprise. Thank you Dorothy.

Never had one before. Isn't it suppost to be in dirt? It is not very far down.

Kim when you have them indoors...all I know is that I leave 1/3 of the bulb exposed. The tend to rot easily.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll uncover it. Like I said, I've never had one before. But it sure is pretty. And ya, I now have some blooms in my house to brighten up the day. Cool.

Hey Kim. sorry about not sending you info on planting the Amaryllis.
I took it out of the box because I needed the room for all the other stuff. LOL
Lucy is correct about the planting. The scape's would have been straight and tall.
Also the name was suppose to been "Christmas Story" but I think its wrong because of you pink.
But I like the color very much.
