Those look like normal ripe seeds. If they are dry I'd soak them in water overnight and peel the cork before sowing. I doubt that a single night of frost would damage them. You'll likely have a very good germination rate.

Here's some info from ABADS regarding seed from variegated brugs:

"Ninety percent of seedlings from variegated crosses are albino and die from lack of chlorophyll. The remaining ten percent will produce anything from totally green leaves to heavy variegation. Beautiful new variegated hybrids are currently undergoing trials and evaluations."

I don't know if this only pertains to both parents being variegated, or just one. I've never had albino or variegated plants grow from seed that I've planted from a variegated pod parent, just regular green foliage. Variegated varieties are obtained from sports off a normal foliage plant. I don't know if any of the variegated brugs that are available have been produced from seed grown plants. You could check BGI. They'd likely have the most up to date info. ABADS is no longer around. It will be interesting to see what you come up with. Good luck.

karyn1 - Again thanks for the additional information. I have been planting rose seeds for many years just to see what I would get out of curiousity. Also have done that with amaryllis.

I use to belong to a rose society where one of the members had a very detailed rose hybridizing program and had over 2000 seedlings a year just looking for that unique or special rose. He kept all kinds of charts of what he crossed with what. I thought it was fascinating but I just do it for fun and use seeds from open pollination.

So it will be interesting to see what I get from this open pollinated brug's seeds.
