Lucy nailed it. Is it a rooted or did you receive it as a cutting? I'm asking because the care is very different for rooted and unrooted plants. You can get loads of info on the GW plumeria forum. One of the most knowledgeable people there is Bill (Tdogdad)

You need to keep that soil mostly DRY until it's rooted and starts to put out leaves. Otherwise the base will rot.
Think of it like rooting a cactus. Usually summer is the best time to root them.

Susan you have a Beautiful cutting there!! and some great advice.. I pot them up water them in and walk away.. They are very forgiving and like most plants .. better to underwater than over water.. once rooted they like full sun also!!
