My bizzare 'Apricot Moon flower brug cutting.

When I won kathy's brugs contest, she included a cutting of Apricot Moonflower. Along with the others, it rooted pretty darn fast. I got one growth around the base of the cutting but it defoliated pretty rapidly, don't know why as it got the same light as the others.

What baffles me is that instead of getting new branches to grow, I am getting these clusters of what look like teeny tiny flower buds!! They don't mature but just stay like there in suspended animation. I removed 2 clusters about a month ago and now 1 has grown back. has anyone ever seen or heard of this before? Is this cutting a goner?

A pic would help. It doesn't sound like something I've seen. Are you sure it's not severely mishapen foliage? As long as the cutting is alive I wouldn't give up on it.

Sorryr I haven't followed up on this post. I wish I could email pics buy my USB is not working. I have to replace it. I don't know if it's just deformed foliage or if its something else.

I had one do that a few yrs ago.. It has some technical name..I will have to think about it tho.. Mine was there for the longest time ..it did grow but not much.. I posted a pic at BGI.. I am sure I don't still have it tho..BUT it won't hurt the plant.. You could just pluck it off or let it go..

With most of my plants (never seen it on any of my brugs) cresting usually involves the stem and blooms, which normally continue to open, though they are often very deformed.
