Herbstzauber and Sommerzuaber are two of the german brugs that do very well in florida....even when grown in full sun. Mine are thriving.. The fact that they are both yellow/orange doubles is a major plus because many of the brugs in that color palette have disease issues when grown in the heat and high humidity climates.

Gary, You are so correct on these two Brugs.
I'm having extreme success on Herbstzauber
and Sommerzuaber here in Florida. They are both
in Full sun in Large pots and takes the heat
very well. Sommerzauber is Loaded with buds
and it is a very Vigorous grower as well.

That's great that they do well here in FL. I have trouble with alot of yellows here they seem to get fungal things and also stemblight. The yellows I never have any problems with are the Ludger's series.

Thats true. I have Ludgers Windsong, and i had Ludgers Summer Dream for years with no problems....but Sommerzuaber and Herbstzauber are in a different league. Both of them are double/triple blooms where as all of the Ludger series (a.k.a. "the little monkeys") are all singles.
We also don't know the parentage of the monkey series whereas Sommerzauber and Herbstzauber are well documented and can have their lineages traced back a few generations...important info for hybridizers.
