Hi New Guy and welcome! You know, I also had damp off kill my seedlings last year, even though I used peat pellets. This year, when I saw that menacing grey fuzz start to appear, I mixed a spray bottle with water and a few ounces of Listerine. Do you know that kills it immediately? Listerine is great stuff. Now I have 3 seedlings so far. also, I start my seeds in those little plastic green houses, but this year I left off the cover so it gets lots of fresh air. Hope that helps!:)

listerine? sounds like your trying to sabotage my little seeds lol.

but i'll give it a try if it re-occurs

I find them to be much less likely to succumb to damping off then many other seedlings.

Do you remove the humidity dome as soon as they germinate?

Use sterile soil?

Moist but not wet?

Good air flow?

Good Lighting?

Any of these factors could lead to dampening off.

Really- if you dilute it with water it won't hurt your babies at all. It works! I also use straight Listerine applied to a fresh cut and it dries out the stem nicely. Especially if rot has occurred and you're trying to stop it in its tracks. Saved many cuttings for me!
