More then liklely the long sections still contain the branches that bloomed last season (the Y). With the smaller cuttings it will be the uppermost sections. Those are the ones that would be from above the Y if indeed those particular branches bloomed last season. If space is a concern I'd keep the long cuttings. I think they look best. You'll probably get blooms from all your cuttings this year. You should have a fairly long growing season in 7b/8a.

I might add if you don't have room for all your cuttings you can wrap them in a wet paper towel, put the rooted part with the paper towel in a plastic bag, wrap real tight and tape to the brug itself. Then drop them all in a flat rate box and ship them to me. I live on 35 acres and can always use a few more brug cuttings. If you need an address, email me and I'll gladly share the information with you. LOL

I can't believe no one else has asked you for your extra cuttings that you have too many of.
