Anyone grow Cubanola domingensis

The blooms look very similar to a brug, not the foliage though. I just ordered one and was wondering if anyone has any experience with this plant. I needed to console myself with something as the Culebra went too high for me. lol

My cut off was $40 so I knew from almost the beginning that I wasn't going to bid. I didn't pay nearly that much for my last Culebra but the one I got was much smaller as well.

Karyn

I've not heard of this plant before - so I did a Google search. And you're right - it resembles a brug bloom! :) I was quite surprised!

I was reading about it a couple of days ago. It is a relative of the brugmansias, so i would suppose it has similar needs.

You can get it at zone 9

Here is a link that might be useful: zone 9

I bought it from Bob at Zone 9. He said it's a good performer and easy to grow. He also has a red flowered variety but hasn't listed it. Depending on how this one does I'll keep an eye out for the red one. If you haven't bought from Zone 9 Tropicals I highly recommend them. Out of all the nurseries I buy tropical plants from they have the nicest stock.

His shipping has gone way up but why is it so high for you? You are both in TX. It wasn't horrible. I got 2 plants, one gallon and one quart size and shipping was $11. Fuel is outrageous now and I can't blame them for raising their rates. Even DH raised his delivery fees, especially for the out of state deliveries. I figure if it's $100 to fill my tank with regular those diesel trucks have got to be a fortune.

DH drives a deisle truck he spends $240 a week on fuel..I paid over $15 for a freaking gas can yesterday.. Something has got to give...LOL

Kylie is Plant Delights reliable? I've been afraid to buy from them because I've heard some negative remarks but don't know anyone who has actually bought from them.

They sent out great plants and held them for over a month when I was out of town..I had a couple of others that swore they would hold them but didn't ..Nothing but Great things to say about them.. They don't offer a whole lot I want but what I got was awesome..
