Native Snapdragon Vine blooming in a vacant field

I'll go back with clippers soon. Amazing bounty of native plants in there and I'm still hoping to find the passies that were there last year.

Haven't found any milkweed yet, but I'll keep looking.

That's beautiful. I didn't know that there was a native asarina. I'd go back with a shovel if there's several growing. If not a few cuttings and go back again for seed!

Oh dear, Karyn's trying to enable full scale plant rustling!

LOL, I do start with the easily accessible cuttings and definitely seeds. Digging is not out of the question as this is commercial development property and they will eventually pave it over so I am saving these plants.

That is a beauty!!! Like I have been saying...we got some naturally grown, gorgeous plants here lol

P.S. Shirley thank you so much for the Canna. PA came by last week and dropped it off. He is a sweetie. Since it is so hard to get a hold of me these days lol.

Thanks all. I've been reading about the little plant and it is a very polite climber and will be great in my yard. I'll keep an eye out for seeds too.

No seeds from the passie because the critters ate all the fruits last year and I never saw one mature.

I'm really encouraged by this recent discovery and will keep searching.

We all think alike shovel for sure I carry on in the car little army shovel and one in the truck never can tell what your going to come up on here passion flowers are like weeds. I get alot of ginger here from the side of the road. People are bad about dumping onthe side of road instead of taking it to the dump you can get some really cool plants that way

LOL, the only place around here you can use a shovel is in a raised bed. We have to take an iron digging bar and bust up the rock around the plant. Landscapers use jackhammers for new plantings.

Time for an update. I started three cuttings and one is still going. No blooms since these faded, but more vines are popping up so I might be able to transplant before it gets too hot. No seeds there yet.

Now that I know what to look for, I've seen them on the side of the road too.

That's such a beautiful flower. Finding things by accident like that is such a thrill!
