datura seeds germinated in baggie, but something seems not right

Hello,

Ok I was pleased that I got some to germinate (grow root) via the "baggie method." I took the seed and carefully planted it a pot with jiffy mix. Anyway, the seedling is growing I can tell, but it's taking its sweet time coming up. Part of the stem has come up and I can see the leaves are trying to come out too but it's just moving so slowly, several days. We've had good weather. I just don't want to lose it to "damping off" since it's growing so slow.

I also wonder that if putting a germinated seedling in soil is like transplanting regular plants; it causes the seedling to go into "shock" until it gets accustomed to growing inside of soil, instead of in a moist coffee filter inside a plastic bag.
