Fantasma/Shredded White Fantasy - Advice

Hello, I am new here.

I just got my first brugmansia plant from a local nursery. When I bought it, it was not in bloom.

It was labeled "Datura". When I asked what color the blooms were on this particular plant, the clerk did not know.

It was strange because the foliage didn't look like the other "daturas" (which I later discovered were, in fact, brugmansias).

When it started to bloom, I thought I had a deformed plant (silly me). Until, after much googling of "deformed brugmansia" "multi-petaled brugmanisa" etc..., I discovered that I had "accidentally" gotten my hands on the (supposedly) very rare Brugmansia X Candida (Shredded White Fantasy/Fantasma).

Now, my biggest problem is, I am not sure how to best care for it. I want to keep it happy so that it will allow me to delight in it's copious blooms! Anyone have any advise?

I don't know what the difference is between a regular shredded white and shredded white fantasy is but the regular shredded white requires the same care as any other brug. Some brugs do put out mutant shredded blooms. I have this problem occasionally with a Jamaica Yellow. It seems that temp fluctuations while the buds are developing cause this to happen.

I have a brug that was marked as a datura x candida. It is not a shredded one, but it has bright white flowers. They almost look like they are glowing in the sunlight. I treat it the same as all the other brugs. It had one flush last year of about 10 blooms.

I lost mine, but I used to have a nice big standard shredded white. I noticed that it liked a little afternoon shade in a hot climate and it was slower to root than some of my others. I sure do miss it. It had a nice honeyed scent.

My shredded white is barely out of the ground this year and not too good looking. Need to dose it up with some cow manure or something. Its one of my favorites for sure.

I only have a couple of blooms on mine, but haven't taken a picture because it looks the same as last time it bloomed. Mine is on the southside against the garage wall so it gets some sun and some shade.
