Finally a nice double yellow

Swingtime is such a nice bright yellow, not a pale creamy yellow like Golden Lady. It only has 1 bloom and the plant is only a bit taller then the flower. It's one of the cuttings that Edna shared with me in the fall. I'll try and get a pic later. It's been pouring since yesterday morning. I hope the slugs don't eat it before I get a pic.

    Hi Edna,

I was going to send you a PM and let you know that the baby was blooming. A couple of the other cuttings you sent have buds as well. All but one of the cuttings you sent did beautifully and I pretty much ignored them over the winter. Maybe that's why they did well. lol

    Wanna see the pic, too.
Karyn, you amaze me more and more. You must have almost every plant under the sky, and know all about each one of them.

The rain has finally stopped but it's still crappy out. I think I need a new camera. The colors are really off. The yellow didn't show on my Garden Treasure last week and it's showing even less with this brug. It's really a clear bright yellow. Of course the specks of dirt that got splashed on it from the rain are showing just fine. lol My tweedia's blue looks washed out as well. The blooms are a beautiful robin's egg blue. Here's a few pics of Swingtime and my tweedia. I think that's my favorite milkweed. My only complaint about Swingtime is the inner skirt didn't drop but that might just be this bloom. I'll reserve judgement until I see a real flush.

Very pretty and it looks very frilly with the two skirts so close together.

Here are a few pics of my swingtime when it bloomed last fall. Started out light, then deepened a little. I want to see what a summer flush looks like.

That's more what mine looks like. It's not quite as dark as your first pic but wayyyyyy more yellow then my pic shows. I love the contrast of the skirt colors in your 2nd pic. Is that normal for this variety? My skirts are the same color, so far anyway.

Can I put my memory card thingy in a different camera to take pics then put it back in mine to upload them to the computer? I have 2 other cameras that I'm pretty sure use the same card but don't have the software loaded to put them on the computer.

I have Swingtime on my want list for this year, when I can find one. Karyn and Shawn--both blooms are gorgeous, but Shawn's looks almost an orange color in the pic,

Karyn, congrats on your bloom on such a small plant. Swingtime seems to be doing well for both you and Shawn. Don't know about you, but even with a new camera, I would still keep it on auto because I don't know how to use the different settings to take better pictures. I just take tons and select what I think are the best ones, LOL!

Karyn can you futz with the colors on your camera's upload program? You might be able to change it to what you really were seeing. The flower itself is really beautiful, anyway. I'd love to see it in person.
