brugs love cool nights and warm days......50's is ideal for nighttime temps....we don't get 50's that often here at night in south florida but when we do...that when the start to set their buds.......anything in the 5o's is fine.....start going into the 40's? well then i would protect them or bring them in....personally i live in a frost free zone so i have never in all the years that i have been growing burgs lost a single plant to frost bitten leaves

Here in the Denver area I worry when the temps go below 40. Otherwise they should be fine. I haven't put mine out yet because our last official frost free date is May 15, and this weekend we're having colder rainy weather. So, maybe next weekend?

Here in NW Florida, it can get down to 28 degrees during the winter - we plant them in the ground, they die back, and return in the spring. A couple of mine are huge and just finished blooming.

Mine stay in ground here in zone 7b, NC, all year too. They can tolerate temps just above freezing- after that they will burn and wilt if they get frosted. I would bring them in if you get frost warnings. But they really love cool weather, 40's and 50's- it does induce blooming!

Me too Rubby, messing with them inside and outside for the seasons is a pain.
