Cool Brug adaptability for Brugmansiaddict/soCal members?

Hello Brugmansiaddict and others,
I am a landscape designer based in Pomona and would like to use the cool growing Brugmansias in my designs but I can't really experiment in my client's gardens...I need plants that are "good doers".
I couldn't tell how far inland you were located Brugmansiaddict, are you as far east as I am? Would the flowering be cut short by light frost? Would they tolerate average temps of 91/58 in July and August?
If grown dry, would these go deciduous in summer?
Thanks!! Nate
