Looks like slug or snail damage. I use diatomaceous earth which is not doing a damn thing now because of the rain so I've been picking them off by hand at night and early am. There's also slug bait that you can get at the hardware store or nursery.
I've been having the same problem as you and when I started checking the leaves found a green caterpiller looking thing on the undersides on each of my 2 brugs. They were really having a feast!
Yes we have lots of the little green caterpillars here too. A good way I found to spot them is to mist them on the underside of the leaves and then you can see them wiggle. If they are small its hard to spot them otherwise. Mine are the same color as the leaves. I also have snails everywhere so have damage from both. The worms will make quick work of the leaves with nothing but veins left if you let them grow up.
