Maybe it's slugs? Some of my brug foliage looks like Swiss cheese because of them. Go out in the evening or early morning and see if they are the culprits.

Pictures of the bugs and knowing what Zone you are in would really help.

Well mine were being eaten up by caterpillars-fuzzy worms and BABY grasshopers!!the caterpillars are alsmot gone but the grasshopers, they are just begining to come back! I am deabting on what to use regulat four or sulphur, or sevin dust any ideas? Thanks Marcie

I sneaked out to the patio last night, when it was already dark,armed with a flashlight, because the leaves on one of my brugs got eaten, slowly but surely. Of course that's easy to do for me, since I don't have many brugs and I watch them like a hawk.
There was a new large hole. I lifted up the leaf, and there was a big, fat, green caterpillar, munching away.
Needless to say, HE IS NO MORE.He was the ONLY one!

The slugs are horrible now. We've had rain on and off for the past week and they are out in mass. I knocked 27 off 1 brug the other day and it wasn't a big plant. It's bad enough that they make them look terrible but I'm afraid they are going to kill some of the smaller ones. The DE is just getting washed away daily.
