Shooting star is a smaller yellow flowering brug for me and does well in zone 7b, NC. We have humidity and heat like you do. I cut my shooting star short, and it appears to look a dwarf. Good Luck!

Just curious what you are expecting. I have a yellow noid that has been in the ground for 4 years now and it seems to be able to handle the heat better each year. It just had its biggest flush a few days ago. We are in the low 90's now and it is in full sun. It struggles in July and August but still manages to produce a few flowers if I give it enough water and fertilizer. It has the cut leaves and I didn't realize it should not be in full sun. I am looking for more heat resistant brugs in the white peach and amber colors so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Red, this seemed to be a very unusual brug. From the pictures it looks like it has a very upright growth and holds it's flowers out, not down....
...just something unusual I'd like to try growing
If it will hold up in south Florida heat, it might even be an interesting hedge......

Corrie- Sounds like it's from the Aurea group, just as you've described. I love them and have a few- namely, Morgensonne, Brazilian Treasure, and a really beautiful yellow that I have is currently un named. They have waxy flowers and flare outward, instead of downward.

Since I don't have a lot of room, I'm trying to find something "interesting"....you know

I love the waxy flowers and the way they hold them out...that's what attracted me to them

How do you think they would do in south Florida....I have a feeling not too well....darn it

Golden Lady does okay for me here in NE FL in a pot. I also have Shooting Star blooming off and on now. We are getting tons of rain so it is really enjoying it. SS usually does better for me in the fall I swear it usually blooms like crazy right before Halloween like its on a timer LOL.
