I purchased my first brug at a plant sale this spring. It is doing well, but is only 18" to 2' tall and has started blooming. The first bloom is touching the ground. Should I prune these flowers until the plant has grown bigger? Any advice is welcome!!

Also, will it come back as a perineal if I just leave it in the ground? I'm in SC, 7b-8a.
