Welcome! Don't despair! :) Don't be afraid to un pot it and see what's going on. Are there healthy white roots, or are they brown, soft and mushy? Is there too much soil compared to plant roots? That can cause rot. Plants will wilt if the are rotting, cuz they can't take up oxygen, because they're drowning. Every time you move a plant, it has to adjust to it's new environment. Assess it and then get back to us. If it's rotting, cut away all rot and dead and broken roots, and repot in a smaller pot. If the roots are white and healthy, try soaking pot in a bucket of water til the bubbles stop coming up from the soil, and plant it in full sun. Let us know how you're doing and relax, have fun! ;)

Thank you. We dug it out of the pot and the roots are white and healthy. So, if it is wilted with healthy roots, do I water it more? Less? The dirt is dark but barely moist. When I have given it a good soak, nothing changes. So I underwatered it the last few days because I thought it was drowning. My other brugs do not behave like this one.

Maybe it needs to be potted up to a larger pot? Was it "root-bound" when you looked at the roots?

Does it wilt in the sun, and then by the next morning it's fine? That's ok. If it stays wilted, it needs a good drink. Water it til it runs out of the drainage hole. I hope it has a drainage hole- sometimes these fancy pots don't have one and we have to drill one. Is it putting on new growth? Tell us more! :)

If I could figure out how to post a pic, I would. I put it in a smaller pot, though it still has room. I watered it a good amount each day. It looks worse than ever. The roots look fine and they look happy. The rest looks like crap. I can keep 20 alive and well, and this new treat that I was so happy to have is going to die on me!

Datura need to be kept as dry as possible. They are weeds, after all, and don't require the water brugs do.

I think you nailed it! I said originally it may be a dantura. I am going to move it to a dry pot and see if I can save it. Thank you!
