Pruning a lopsided brug

joryn

Hey all,

My brug has finally recovered since my job relocation but it has recovered in a very unusual fashion. Since it is now beside a south window it gets quite a bit of light during the day but in a very directional way. As such it has grown in a somewhat twisted/tangled way and quite unevenly.

I've been hoping to get this thing to bloom (unsuccessfully) for nearly 3 years so I'm hoping some careful pruning and a good amount of fertilizer might convince the tree to go for it. Here are a few pictures of the problem I'm facing:

Any input would be great. I should also note that the plant is pretty rootbound in that pot already. Is it in my best interest to repot it as well (or just pull it, prune the roots and replant)?? Please help me get this thing to bloom! :D

Thanks and regards,

Joe
