I bet it's the heat. It's done a number on the buds of most of my brugs. Most of the buds drop very early on but a fair number were dropping just before opening. It's just started cooling down here and it appears that the buds are holding. Just give it some time. Don't cut them back. You should be cooling off soon. I continue feeding my brugs until about 4 weeks before I store them for the winter.

I agree it's the heat!! I have a handful that are finally gonna bloom.. We are mid 90's but the nights a cooling down some.. Of course I will probably miss it becoz I have to F%$^*& go out of town AGAIN!! Hubby will send pic's. yipee..

It was the heat. It is cooling down now but too late for me to get any blooms. They are starting to look better but I only have maybe 1 to 2 more months before they have to come in for the winter. They are in such bad shape from the worm damage that they will not put out any blooms this year.

Mine weren't doing too much as far as growing, but I started spraying the leaves with some Superthrive diluted in water. Man- in 2 days the leaves grew darker and started to reach towards the sky. They grew rapidly, and now most of my brugs are blooming. I spray them every week. We're in zone 7, it's been hot here- in the 90's during the day and in the 60's at night. Cooler temps trigger blooms too. I water every day. Deep watering is best. best wishes for blooms to come!
