Oh darn! Well at least the praying mantis will probably eat more bugs than the spider. They are such pigs!! I guess the bad thing is they don't discriminate bad bugs vs good bugs. He is a pretty thing...wish I had more in my yard, it is completely overun with spiders. I like spiders but there a millions here lol.

Yesterday I saw a very striking looking praying mantis on my jasmine.. he was jet black with orange paws (front legs)...

I love mantids. It's too bad that they aren't more discriminating but I'd rather have them then not. Izhar that must have been gorgeous. The only other unusual mantid that I've seen is an Orchid mantis, native to the Asian rainforest, at a nature exhibit.
