The paper towel should feel very slightly moist on touch before your put them in plastic sheet or ziplock bags..

What I do is to wet the paper and let it dry until the edges become dry and the center is slightly moist.. I sent seedlings, cuttings, bare-roots wrapped in it..

Another way is to pack directly in shrink-wrap plastic... the mails received in 10-15 days arrive fresh mostly..

Hi Bobbie,
I cut mine 8" long, put an arrow pointing to the top with a magic marker,put Listerine or a mouth wash on the top cut end to seal and help calous over. Wet a paper towel and sqeeze dry, wrap around the end that will be planted in dirt and cover with a plastic bag. I've even let the cutting stand in water for 24 hrs to help with root start.

Thanks for the suggestions. I often take plants or cuttings to others in damp paper towels and wrapped with a plastic bag but have never mailed any plants or cuttings.

Jerry, sent you an e-mail. I am taking cuttings from Frosty Pink and Pink Beauty.

You can also use wet paper towels and heavy duty aluminum foil smooshed snugly around the paper towel so as not to leak... .. Just be sure to label your cuttings!
