I won't get into much detail unless you request it.

Last October, I took three 6" cuttings and put them in a cup of water for about 2 weeks. You can start to see the roots growing almost immediately. After about 2 weeks, I put them into 4" pots. It was getting real cold at nights, so I brought them into a basement window for the winter. They were stationary (But alive & green) until January, and started growing more when the days startered to get longer. I planted up in spring and they are 7' tall again.

This year (Early Sept) I took about Fifteen 6" cuttings and did the same. Planted them up into clear plastic cups so I could see the roots grow. I did it earlier this year so they would grow a little outdoors before I had to bring them in. They are doing great. All have nice leaves and are maybe 8-9" tall.

When I plant them up, I keep the soil wet at all times. When I bring them in for the winter, I run them dry. Maybe water once per week. See my pic

I put the 6" cutting right into water. The roots start growing in the water. I don't plant into soil until the roots start to protrude from the stem.

Look at the picture. The far left cup is a few stems in water

All of these babies will be 6 feet next year and have 2 full flowering cycles. The below picture was a 6" cutting last October
